Objective:

The aim of Blackjack is the collect a hand that is as near to 21 points in value without going over. If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's then you win, otherwise the dealer does. Cards numbered 2 - 9 are worth the value on the card, aces are worth either 1 or 11 points depending on which suits your hand better and face cards are all worth 10. At 21nova Casino it is possible to play 6 deck Blackjack in both single-hand and multi-hand mode as well as in private group mode.

How to Play:

Playing Blackjack at 21nova is simple, read this quick guide now and you'll be ready to play in no time.

  1. You place your bet by click on the betting area of the table. A left-click of the mouse will add one chip to your bet and a right-click will remove one bet. The maximum and minimum size of the bet will depends on the game's betting limit.

  2. To begin the game click on “Deal” this will deal cards out to each player face down.

  3. If the dealer's face-up card is an ace then you are offered insurance, simply click on it to accept (for more details about insurance see the rules section).

  4. You can either “Hit”, “Stand”, “Double” or “Split” by clicking on the relevant button. Don't forget that in order to use Insurance, Double or Split you must place an additional bet.

  5. Once all players have chosen to stand then the winner is decided and given the pot.

  6. To begin a new round click on “New Game”, if you wish to use the same bet as in the previous round then click on “Rebet”.

Multi-hand version:

Our multi-hand version of Blackjack will allow you to play up to three hands simultaneously. If you wish to play the multi-hand version simply click on the multi-hand button in the casino lobby. Bets are placed the same way as in the single hand version as described above, simply click on a chip value that you wish to use and select the betting area of the table by clicking on it. With each click of the mouse another chip will be added to the bet. However, if you are playing with more than one hand then you will need to place your bets in more than one area, for example, if you are playing with two hands then you need to place two separate bets.

Both multi-player mode and Private Group mode allow you to play at the same Blackjack table as other people, you can only join a Private Group if you know the name of it.

Rules of Blackjack:

If you are new to Blackjack read the rules here and you will soon be enjoying the excitement of the game.

  • If you have Blackjack (i.e. your hand is made up of an Ace and a face card) then you will win 1.5 times your bet.

  • Having Blackjack will beat any other hand also worth 21 points.

  • If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's then you are awarded your bet amount.

  • You are “Bust” if you hand is larger than 21 points and you lose your bet.

  • If there is a tie between player and dealer with hand values over 16 then neither win the bet, this is known as a “push”.

21nova Casino Blackjack followed the Las Vegas Strip Rules with these exceptions:

  • Once a card is used it is returned to its deck and the deck is shuffled before the next round.

  • Players may only split their hands once.

  • If a player draws split Aces then they can only be dealt one card.

  • After splitting it is possible to Double.

  • The dealer will never check for Blackjack.

  • If the dealer has 11 and goes on to get Blackjack, the player will lose both their bets if they have doubled. The player can only get their bet back if the dealer's first card was worth 10 and they then go on to get Blackjack.

Split:

If a player is dealt two cards of the same value then they can split them to create two separate hands. This will mean that they must make a second bet and draw more cards to complete each hand. If Aces were split then only one card is dealt to each hand, otherwise there is no limit upon how many cards can be dealt to each hand. In a split hand an Ace and face card combination is not considered Blackjack but only 21.

Double:

It is possible to double your bet if you think that a third card will allow you to beat the dealer. If you choose to double a third card is dealt and the extra bet is drawn from your account.

Insurance:

If the dealer's face up card is an Ace then the player may take out insurance. This means that the player makes another bet which is equal to half of their original one, if the dealer goes on to get Blackjack the additional bet is paid out 2:1 which ensures that the player does not lose any money. The original bet is won back as well as the insurance amount. However, if the dealer does not have Blackjack then the player will lose both their original bet and the insurance bet.

10 Card Charlie:

Unless the dealer has Blackjack, a player will win if they manage to draw 10 cards in a hand without going bust.

Winnings:

There are three possible ways that a player can be paid out:

Pays

Winning Hand

1 to 1

Insurance

2 to 1

Blackjack

3 to 2
